The functioning of the AQUAFILTER drainage system is based on the principle of prevailing flow losses. The drainage system can be installed both in filters with a medium interwall and without an intermediate wall. Filtration makes it possible to provide a wide range of flow of washing media.

  • In the variant with washing air, filtration works in the range of 2—25 l/s×m² (10.8—108 m³/h×m²).
  • In the variant with washing water, filtration works in the range of 2—18 l/s×m² (10.8—97.2 m³/h×m²).

A filter cartridge with a grain size of more than 0.6 mm can be deposited directly on the filter system.

The washing water and the washing air are distributed by separate tubular bodies so that the selected intensity of the washing water is as little as possible influenced by the different excess pressure of the washing air.

The innovative design of the stainless steel system guarantees a long service life, approximately 50 years.

Compared to other systems, the AQUAFILTER system offers significant investment savings when using a two-layer filter cartridge. And this is due to the necessary smaller dimension of the water tank, pumps and pipes for washing water. Additional operational savings technology achieves on washing water, electricity and filter material.

Uniform extrusion of washing air and washing water into the filter cartridge over the entire filter area, throughout the filter cartridge and at all guaranteed washing intensities. This property is achieved using the safe principle of prevailing flow losses. Thanks to this hydraulic solution, the system is able to maintain a sharp interface in two-layer filters, even at relatively low water wash intensities. As a result, the rate of abrasion of filter coal by filter sand is reduced.

The filter head with slots of 0.4 mm is formed in conjunction with the mouthpiece”nozzle for tubular bodies“. The shape and processing method of the filter head minimizes the possibility of it becoming clogged with the filter cartridge. The nozzle is of vital importance in generating the necessary flow loss at a predetermined flow rate. The number of “nozzles for tubular bodies” varies in the range of 50-60 pcs/m².

The AQUAFILTER system does not use no fixed connections, grouting or other non-dismountable connections. Therefore, if necessary, its individual parts can be easily dismantled.

Thanks to its hydraulic design and design, the entire drainage system achieves maximum effect of washing the filter cartridge. Virtually completely eliminates dead (unwashed) spots in the filter cartridge.

The system contains a unique the ability to check the condition of water bodies using air without removing the filter cartridge. This ability is achieved by the innovative shape of the mouthpiece with a hole in its upper part that allows air to exit.

The system is fully walkable up to a load capacity of 150 kg.

Why AQUAFILTER?

The AQUAFILTER pipe drainage system in its basic form has been developed for more than two years, undergoing a number of practical tests to achieve its required functional properties. However, its development in individual sub-parts has continued and continues continuously.

The first application of the system was in 1981. Since then he has been installed in 58 water treatment plants in the Czech and Slovak Republics, for the total filtration area 9,752 m². In addition, the AQUAFILTER system has undergone repeated independent Testing in laboratories several important water management companies (Hydroprojekt, Severomoravské vodovody a kan, Jihočeský vodovody a kan, Pražské vodovody a kan). All laboratory tests have shown high efficiency of the drainage system.

In 2017, the agreement on cooperation of companies was concluded AQUAFILTER, v. o. s. and Construction smelter Slatiňany, spol. s r. o. on further development, assembly and warranty and post-warranty service. Combining the know-how and background of both companies has created a stable partner for all those interested in the AQUAFILTER drainage system.

This cooperation has also resulted creation of variants in stainless steel design. From the same material there are now also support elements of the system. It was possible to reduce the time required to install the drainage system, ensure its better stability and increased mechanical resistance, all while maintaining the proven filtration parameters given by the hydraulic solution of the entire system.
